Fire Ant attribute added to cache pages

Postby BackpacknJack » Sat May 16, 2009 10:29 pm

While attending the GPS Adventure Maze Event at the Natural Resources Museum in Smackover today I spoke with a representative from Ground Speak and she agreed to place an additional attribute on the geocache page for Fire Ants. They are not just the scourge of the deep south anymore and I thought we needed to be able to warn geocachers, especially those with children and/or pets, about their presents near caches other then by adding comments and warnings in the cache logs.

That's a great idea BPNJ, I know I have had caches near them. They wasn't there when I placed it but they moved in afterward.
Here is a homemade recipe to kill Fire Ants.
1-Cup Turpentine
1-Ouart Ammonia
¼ cup Dawn Dish washing soap
2-Gal Water
Spray on mound.
This come from the Ask Your Neighbor radio program.
