Boy it's quiet.
Wow, it's gone quiet around here. Not that I've ever been a social cacher anyway, but sometimes the passing of a good tale of updates on the news would be interesting.

Larger PQ's
Did anybody else notice that PQ's can now have 1000 caches each? They seem to have killed the e-mail service though. Once the PQ runs you have to go back to GC and download it from a link instead although that could be a good thing depending on how you use the PQ's.

Sugarloaf Chimney - Heber Springs.
Well I wanted something interesting and adventurous for find 1500 and Sugarloaf Chimney delivered both. I don't have near the problem with heights that my wife does, I only get nervous when I know I'm in a position to fall if something goes wrong and there are things that have a fair possability of ...

Re: 1 Million geocaches in the world!
That's pretty impressive. That means that even with 95% PNG's there are 50K caches out there that might be fun to find.

Re: The $100Mouse Hunt
Sad to see the mouse go Jack, even though I haven't hunted in a while. It was always fun when I could get the weekend free when the mouse was running. This winter has been so busy with other things I didn't even get out to cache for three whole month. Hopefully you can turn it into a bi-annual or qu...

Of 7000 caches in Arkansas: Only 8% have a terrain rating of 3 or higher. Only 10% have a difficulty level of 3 or higher. Only 2.5% have both a terrain and difficulty of 3 or more. If you change that to caches with a terrain OVER 3, it becomes 4% on the terrain, 5% on the difficulty, and .8% with b...

Yeah, but how many of them are interesting caches vs. PNG caches? I got bored one day at work and figured the numbers for Arkansas and it worked out to something like less than 10% of all caches in the state had a terrain OR difficulty over a 3. Even that wouldn't neccisarily mean they are very inte...

There is an all-counties challenge in arkansas now. GC1KZXN I'm not sure when Calhoun got a cache to make it doable, but the challenge went active in January. An easy way to check which counties you have completed is to use the latest version of GSAK, which has a function that will break down your f...
